Production of the Ornament
There's a piece of paper that has survived almost being fed to multiple fires, a photocopied relic: the first pages of a chapter of Ernst Bloch's The Spirit of Utopia.
More than a decade ago, I underlined:
We are poor, we have unlearned how to play. We have forgotten it, our hands have unlearned how to dabble. -p. 10
This website can be recycled, replicated, repurposed. Transparent down to the open source code, as much as I can make it. Modular, resilient, sustainable.
Design Patterns/Philosophies
- decentralized, transparent, collaborative
- ecological, distributed, redundant
- maximalist, with immutable version history
- temporally located, serialized, iterative and incremental
- anti-authoritarian
No Rehearsals, No Placeholders
The performance will continue until the end.
Purpose: Memetic Garden
If our content publishing platforms are walled gardens, then this is a self-curated seed bank of canonical links. A creative commons of ideas I'd like to spread. The first is this website itself, how easy it is to make. Here are the steps:
- Create a Github or Codeberg account
- Clone this repository.
- Install python and mkdocs.
- Edit content
- Build and Serve the site locally.
- Publish as your own github or codeberg pages site.
